As our Work Placement Coach, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our learners gain valuable work experience that directly supports their learning objectives and contributes to the College's overall success. You will be a proactive and organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with both internal teams and external employers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Support with the liaison with the curriculum teams to plan for placement requirements for the academic year.
* Promote work experience to learners through the delivery of tutorials.
* Enhance learner’s employability skills and preparation for work experience through engagement in workshops and learning platforms.
* Implement a selection and matching process for learners to suitable placements, to include ascertaining a learner’s ability, skill set, transport availability, financial support requirements and career path, providing high quality information, advice and guidance.
* Ascertain any learning/health requirements of students prior to placement, developing a learner profile to ensure employers can meet the learners needs whilst on placement.
* Coordinate the completion of learner profiles with curriculum colleagues prior to a placement.
* Establish learners' leads for any work placement opportunities and work establish links with employers.
* Conduct employer related health & safety checks in accordance with college policy, ensuring that employers have all satisfactory checks in place prior to the commencement of a placement. This includes attendance of employer site visits: use of personal vehicles may be required.
* Build and manage external relationships involving employers, partners and the wider business community increasing knowledge and potential referral opportunities.
* Lead on proactively self-generating employers leads for work placements from new and dormant employers.
