Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are currently recruiting for a Chief Accountant to join the team based in Leicester with hybrid working available. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £48,693 - £52,805 per annum.

Responsibilities as our Chief Accountant include:
1. Reporting to the S112 Officer, lead the financial operations of the Service, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
2. Oversee and manage the finance team, providing strategic direction and support.
3. Lead corporate finance and strategic finance activity (Final Accounts, Budget setting, budget monitoring, Pensions, Treasury Management, Capital Accounting, Systems, Exchequer Services etc.).
4. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Skills and experience we are looking for in our Chief Accountant:
1. Professional accounting qualification CCAB or equivalent.
2. Local government finance experience (essential).
3. Extensive experience in a senior finance role.
4. Strong leadership and communication skills.
5. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
6. Good financial systems and spreadsheet skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
