Salary: Circa £55,000 (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the design phase of Naval Networks, including network architecture and development/changes to requirements of interface documents that capture how using systems will interface with the network.
* Assisting with the implementation phase of Naval Networks based on the design baseline, which encompasses configuration creation and supporting the development of auto-generated interface scripting directly into switch configuration.
* Supporting the test/release phase of Naval Networks based on the implementation baseline, involving fault resolution under pressure.
* Supporting the network configuration roll-out in-service T23/T45/QEC platforms.
* Supporting the maturity of functional, performance, and security testing required to release deployable networks to other suppliers.
* Applying good Configuration Management processes to daily work through Observation Reporting tools and tracking documentation amendment records.
Your skills and experiences:
* Experienced in all aspects of networking with excellent L1 to L3 skills.
* IT Infrastructure/networking technical background.
* Integration support background.
* Knowledge of LAN, WAN, VxLAN, MPLS, QoS, BGP, OSPF, RIP, IPSEC, GRE, L2TP, MSTP, HSRP, and Virtual Switching.
* JNCIS or working towards.
* CCNP or working towards.

The Engineering Team:
Would you like to play a key role as a network development engineer contributing to the ongoing evolution of naval networks deployed to the Royal Navy Surface Fleet? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Network Engineer at our site in New Malden.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will support ongoing development to the in-build T26 programme and support the in-service deployed networks on the T23/T45/QEC platforms. You will contribute to the development of new network designs, implementation, testing, and installations across our BAE Systems southern sites, with opportunities to deploy networks on the in-service T23/T45/QEC platforms.
You will primarily work with Juniper networking technology and will have the opportunity to get involved with complex network mitigations, playing a prominent role within a team of 10-12 network engineers.
