For an informal discussion please contact Stephen Nicholson: stephen.nicholsonbrighton-hove.gvo.uk As a Senior Health Promotion Specialist you will play a key role in ensuring the effective development and delivery of a range of health promotion initiatives, with a particular focus on sexual health and substance misuse (drugs and alcohol) and HIV prevention. You will also lead on the commissioning and performance management of a number of evidence-based health promotion services in line with identified need in relation to HIV prevention, sexual health promotion and substance misuse. You will be based within the busy and dynamic public health team at Brighton & Hove City Council, and you will be an essential member of the team. You will work in collaboration with partners in other council departments and across Brighton and Hove including the NHS, community and voluntary sector, education and community groups. About the role You will be primarily responsible for: Lead on relevant strategies, action plans and programmes for responsible areas within Public Health and develop and/or commission evidence based innovative health promotion/public health activity. Manage local Health Promotion and Health Improvement activities including developing Service Level Agreements and other formal documents, leading procurement processes, contract reviews and performance management of commissioned services. Oversee the Public Health Team communication & campaign schedule. Represent Public Health at the CCG Communication & Involvement Network. Support communication and engagement work regarding outbreaks and infections. Support commissioned services to maximise the potential of digital and social media including on-line outreach and geo-positioning apps. Contract manage a programme budget and identify opportunities that deliver improved quality outcomes for local residents and provide better value for money. Provide expert consultancy and advice to colleagues in local authority and other statutory bodies on health promotion issues.
