As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs, helping them to engage confidently in their learning. Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you will provide tailored assistance that enables students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom, helping them engage with lessons and complete tasks.
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with additional needs, adapting activities as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective support strategies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages students' confidence and independence.
- Monitor and record student progress, sharing insights with teachers and the Learning Support team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is committed to supporting students' well-being and academic progress. Previous experience in a learning support role or with children with additional needs is beneficial but not essential for applicants with a passion for helping young people succeed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting young people's development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability and the ability to respond to students' individual learning needs.
- Relevant experience or qualifications in supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
