Job summary
Responsible for the reactive and planned maintenance of all elements of building fabric, working alone and part of a team.
Main duties of the job
To conduct PPM and reactive tasks via a PDA
To be able to prepare and paint a variety of materials
To be able to deliver simple carpentry
To be able to deliver simple plumbing
To help in the management of contractors
To assist other trades when needed
To transport assets on site and between sites
To deliver simple tasks across multiple site such as fire alarm testing and meter readings

Job description
Job responsibilities
To carry out semi-skilled plumbing duties to include repairing of radiator leaks, fractured pipes, unblocking of gutters and drains, as well as sinks and toilets, renewing of tap washers.
To carry out semi-skilled electrical duties to include replacement of light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and the cleaning of light fittings.
Assist in the testing of Fire Alarms
To carry out semi-skilled carpentry and building work to include fitting of shelves, positioning and securing of notice boards, pictures, solving door lock and furniture problems, boarding up windows, tiling showers and bathrooms and general roof repairs and painting.
Any other duties within the scope of the post as may be required from time to time.
To assist as required the Safe Water Services team, taking and recording water temperatures and undertaking flushing of water systems.

Qualifications
Essential
12. oDemonstrable skills in advanced DIY or a qualification in a trade profession.
Desirable
13. oQualification in basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, plastering or similar.
Experience

14. oWorked in a commercial or large residential premise providing routine maintenance using the transferable skills.
Desirable
15. oTo have experience in working within healthcare premises oWorking to maintenance tasks using a PDA or paper.
Knowledge
Essential
16. oTo have an understanding of H&S and be able to work safely oTo have previous knowledge of working to COSHH with regards to chemicals, such as paint, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, brick dust, wood dust, etc.
Desirable
17. oTo have formal training in COSHH or a similar H&S qualification (ROSPA or IOSH)

18. oTo be able to complete simple carpentry in fitting locks and hanging doors. oTo be able to undertake tiling repairs. oTo be able to do painting repairs. oTo be able to unblock sanitary ware and drainage. oTo be able to fit shelves oTo be able to replace lamps and tubes. oTo be able to move such as salt bags, portable sinks and A/C units.
