This US headquartered global entertainment company is seeking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join the finance team in Manchester. The business has a growing omni-channel presence and this is a key role in the digital business reporting into the Director of Accounting. You will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. You will be responsible for areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, as well as supporting the production of timely and accurate financial reports. Your expertise will help the company maintain strong financial controls and support its growth initiatives. You will report directly to the Director of Accounting as part of a wider Accounting team.
This role is focused on indirect costs. Key responsibilities will be:
* Take full responsibility for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial information.
* Review and post month-end journals for multiple entities.
* Operate in a rigorous internal controls environment and recommend opportunities for process improvements.
* Ensure appropriate allocation methodology for cost attribution across multiple segments, markets and business verticals.
* Prepare or review month-end schedules and reports.
* Complete and/or review monthly account reconciliations and analysis, with a focus on indirect costs.
* Support the preparation of monthly corporate presentations, management reports and group reporting packs.
* Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits of the consolidated group.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Develop and maintain good routines for day-to-day accounting activities.
* Assist with internal and external audits.
* Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
* Participate in cross-training and support ad-hoc tasks, as required.
YOU:
* Qualified accountant
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a publicly traded company.
* Stng knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The business operates a hybrid working policy with the requirement to be in office 2 days per week. Experience working in the entertainment/gaming sector advantageous but not essential. You will have worked in a fast-paced, progressive environment.
