Teaching Assistant Level 2 Pay Band D / Scale point 5-6 30 hours per week / 46 weeks per year £24,790 - £25,183 pro rata, per annum [actual salary: £18,274 -£18,564 per annum] Contract to commence: As soon as possible The Governing Board of Malvern Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant (Level 2) with experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to join our supportive and inclusive team. This role involves working closely with young children to support their learning, development, and care under the guidance of the class teacher. Key Responsibilities: • Provide focused support for children in EYFS, helping them to develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning. • Assist in implementing the EYFS framework, using creative and engaging activities tailored to individual and group needs. • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to plan and deliver high-quality, play-based learning experiences. • Support children in developing confidence, independence, and social skills through structured and free play activities. • Monitor and document children’s progress, ensuring developmental milestones are met and reporting observations to the class teacher. • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the holistic development of all children. • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting open communication and trust. Essential Attributes and Experience: • Demonstrable experience of working in an EYFS setting, with a solid understanding of the EYFS curriculum and its application. • A warm, patient and enthusiastic approach to engaging with young children. • Knowledge of strategies to support early literacy, mathematics and social-emotional development. • Experience in using observation and assessment techniques to track progress and inform planning. • A commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
