Why does this role exist? The Head of FP&A plays a pivotal role in driving BRE’s financial performance and strategic decision-making. As part of the Finance senior leadership team, this role supports sustainable growth through robust financial planning, insightful analysis, and effective performance management. The value this role will add: Lead the FP&A function to provide financial clarity, enabling leadership teams to make informed, data-driven decisions. Partner with the Finance Director and executive leadership to develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with BRE’s vision and business objectives. Deliver clear, actionable financial insights through accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Strengthen financial processes and systems to ensure transparency, efficiency, and continuous improvement. How will success be measured? Delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful management reporting and analysis. Achievement of robust financial planning processes, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year strategic plans. Enhanced collaboration across business units to drive financial performance against key KPIs. Improved efficiency and automation of FP&A processes, systems, and tools. Development and growth of direct reports, creating a high-performing and motivated FP&A team. What authority does the role have? Oversight of the FP&A function, including all related processes, tools, and reporting. Leadership of two direct reports within the FP&A team. Ability to challenge and influence senior leaders across the organisation on financial strategy and performance. What experience and skills does the role need? Essential: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant. Significant experience in senior FP&A leadership roles. Proven track record of delivering strategic financial planning, analysis, and insight. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Expertise in developing and embedding robust financial systems, tools, and processes. Ability to manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team. Desirable: Experience in a research, sustainability, or consultancy-based organisation. Familiarity with delivering transformation and process improvements. Experience in using D365 ERP (Dynamics 365) and Anaplan for financial planning, reporting, and analysis. Skills and Attributes: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation abilities, with the capacity to translate complex financial data into clear insights.
