We are looking for a HCA to join our small friendly team minimum 16hrs per week.
To assist with the delivery and provision of high quality primary healthcare service for patients within the practice including clinical and administrative tasks in which they have been trained and/or shown to be competent. The HCA will work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to promote a high standard of health and well-being amongst the patient population and to facilitate access to appropriate medical personnel when required.
Main duties of the job
To assist the GPs and nurses in providing a high standard of care for the practice population within the practice policies, procedures and guidelines. To assist the GP's, nurses and practice staff to meet the nationally agreed targets for health as agreed in the new GMS contract. To carry out clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a senior member of staff.
Clinical Tasks
1. Phlebotomy
2. Electrocardiographs (ECG's)
3. Blood pressure monitoring
4. Carers reviews
5. NHS Health Checks
6. Urinalysis
7. Health education including promoting the health benefits of a healthy diet, smoking cessation, weight management
8. Health screening of patients with pre-Diabetes and diabetic foot checks
9. Ordering of clinical stock
10. Home Visits
About us
We are a small friendly training practice, and our team consists of GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 2 Practice nurses, and a supportive admin team.
We perform well both in QOF & BCQ.
We also have ARRS staff who work for the Westhoughton PCN consisting of MSK, MH Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacists, Visiting Paramedics, Social Prescribers, GP assistants, Care co-ordinator and Health Improvement practitioners.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade 4 and above
* Care certificate
* Venepuncture Trained
* Full driving license
* Experience within a Primary Care or NHS setting.
* TPP Systm One trained
