Do you have experience working on successful cultural projects that build diverse cultural leadership, with the principles of inclusion and relevance? Are you confident and effective in relationship building and influence with partners from multiple different backgrounds and professional levels, and are natural networker and influencer? You will need to be able to demonstrate strong cultural project management experience, communication skills and be able to manage a full and varied workload. What’s the role? The role involves working with the Cultural Partnership Manager, the wider team within Lewisham Council and the external Cultural Partnership Board to support the delivery of Lewisham’s cultural strategy. You will develop and lead on designated areas of the strategy’s action plan, work will include: contract management of the Film Location contract for the borough project management and producing skills for a range of cultural projects, initiatives and events, including development, planning, stakeholder engagement, delivery, budget drafting and monitoring, marketing and evaluation. Leading on processes to distribute small grants to the cultural sector and community groups for the cultural calendar and in other instances required. Supporting the work of Lewisham’s Cultural Strategy action plan, Lewisham Cultural Partnership and associated working groups and workstreams. What’s in it for you? You may not previously have worked in local government, but you will have a working knowledge of the role of local government in supporting the cultural and creative sector and in improving residents’ access to culture and creative activity. We are looking for someone who is driven and can be positive, flexible and persistent in approaches to change and challenging situations. Location The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. Special conditions Must be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the job, including some out of hours working at evenings and weekends.
