Working at UKCEH is rewarding. Our science makes a real difference, enabling people and the environment to prosper, and enriching society. We are the custodians of a wealth of environmental data, collected by UKCEH and its predecessors over the course of more than 60 years.

* 24-hour, 365-day access to support with physical, mental, social, health, or financial issues plus access to our trained Welfare Officers.
* Flexible working opportunities.
You will manage environmental scientific samplers developed by scientists across prototyping, benchmarking, and commercialisation. You'll be part of a team delivering field instrument builds and customer product support. You’ll work with a passionate team of air quality researchers, ecologists, technicians, and engineers.
You’ll be joining a leading independent, not-for-profit research institute that’s committed to recruiting talented people like you, progressing your career, and giving you the support you need to thrive at UKCEH.
Main Responsibilities
* Operationally manage UKCEH instrument and sampler production (e.g. UKCEH DELTA, in-house chemical analytical systems).
* Manage UKCEH products across technical support and product deployment.
* Implement product standards (e.g. CE compliance and other product benchmarks).
* Work with UKCEH scientists on innovation for next generation environmental measurements and designing laboratory and field instruments.
* Work with IT and data scientists to ensure product integration.
* Managing short- and long-term field deployments of instruments, samplers, and sensors.
Minimum Requirements

* Experience integrating instruments with data acquisition and communication systems.
* Proficient in CAD and/or CAM software.
* Applied accurate protocols and procedures for commercial product use.
* Manage projects and/or tasks to completion including risk management.
* The ability to work in a team, to interact with environmental scientists and engineers.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
