Behaviour Mentor– Stockton
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £100 per day
Start Date: As soon as clearance is completed

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education? Do you have the resilience and sense of humour needed to engage with students in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting?
We are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist PRU in Stockton. This role is full-time and expected to continue until the end of the academic year and beyond.
The Role
* Supporting students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion, helping them to re-engage with education
* Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a structured and supportive environment
* Building positive relationships to foster trust and motivation
* Implementing behaviour management strategies and working closely with teaching staff and external professionals
* Providing emotional and academic support to help students progress
What We Are Looking For
* Experience working with young people in an education, care, or support setting
* Understanding of behaviour management, mental health needs, and neurological conditions
* A resilient nature, positive attitude, and a good sense of humour
* Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
* The ability to adapt to challenging situations and support students with a wide range of needs
While previous experience in a PRU or alternative provision is beneficial, we welcome applicants with transferable skills from youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or similar backgrounds.
