The Corporate Support Assistant will play a vital support role to the Council’s Corporate Team, the Town and Deputy Clerk, and Town Councillors. This position involves providing comprehensive administrative support to internal support services and acts as a key link between Councillors and Officers.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Corporate Support Assistant will be responsible for ensuring smooth communication and coordination within the Council, facilitating the effective operation of the Corporate Team. This post will be part of our busy and dynamic Central Services Team, which is responsible for supporting all the Council’s activities, including meetings, projects, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Tasks include:
* Liaising with internal and external customers through correspondence and telephone.
* Supporting the agendas and items for the Corporate service.
* Monitoring shared mailboxes and directing calls.
* Managing calendars and meeting appointments for Clerk and Deputy Clerk.
* Providing administrative support for various areas of the corporate service.
* Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with Councillors.
* Dealing with Councillor enquiries, advising and signposting as necessary.
* Assist with ongoing member development.
* Liaising with ICT support to report and resolve any issues or requests related to Councillors devices, software or accounts.
