Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Reception Class)
Location: Gorton, Manchester
Contract: Full-Time
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a child in Reception with complex needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your key responsibilities will include:
Implementing and adapting learning activities to suit the child’s individual needs.
Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external specialists to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Supporting the child with personal care, mobility, and social interactions where necessary.
Monitoring progress and maintaining detailed records to inform ongoing planning.
Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in the classroom.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary or early years setting.
Knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with complex needs.
Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are desirable but not essential.
