Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Single Point of Referral Team for an enthusiastic team player to join our call handler and administrative team to support the clinical services in Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. Single Point of Referral supports the delivery of care to people in their own homes who need urgent and planned community services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the first point of contact for Single Point of Referral for all service users and professionals. Also the supervisor will ensure that all members of the SPR team maintain effective and efficient communication skills whilst dealing with all contacts.
The hub is open 7 days a week 08:00-18:00 and a variety of shifts can be offered to suit candidates and provide flexible working.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality clerical and administrative support to Single Point of Referral, to support the role of the Single Point of Referral Manager, to supervise the delivery of an effective and efficient service (SPR) for the multidisciplinary team, patients and service users.

Training & Qualifications
Essential
1. RSA Stage II Word Processing/Typing qualification or ability to demonstrate equivalent standard and experience
2. NVQ Level 3 Business Administration or equivalent or able to demonstrate equivalent standard and experience
3. Good knowledge of medical terminology
4. Able to demonstrate a good level of maths commensurate with maintaining referral and activity data
5. Able to demonstrate a good level of English language and grammar commensurate with composing own letters & ability to correct other correspondence as necessary

6. Significant experience in an administrative role
7. Experience of working with clinical staff and understanding of their roles, specialities and responsibilities
8. Experience of booking and managing appointments via an electronic booking system
9. Experience of supervising staff

10. Excellent secretarial, interpersonal and communication skills
11. Ability to problem solve and resolve day-to-day IT programme problems
