Superior Recruitment Group are supporting a key client based in Glasgow who are looking for an Estimator to join their team.
The role of the Estimator is to prepare full EPC project estimates, including take-offs and pricing for projects in the emerging hydrogen sector and other energy sectors. Primary responsibility for preparing the Cost Estimate.
Responsibilities
* Support the Proposals Manager on individual projects and take ownership of estimating documentation.
* Review and critically analyse tender documentation, highlighting any potential problems and suggest solutions.
* Ensure Company estimating processes are maintained and followed.
* Analysing tenders to ensure they are compliant and in-line with client requirements.
* Support the submission of complete tenders.
* Maintain/update the library of rates for sub-contractors and suppliers.
* Attend pre and post tender meetings.
* Work closely with Operations / Commercial / Procurement functions to create accurate estimates.
* Develop strong relationships and interaction with the clients.
* Responsible for maintaining and updating the Company's estimating software, EcoSys, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
* Responsible for preparing feed study estimates and detailed estimates for fixed price / target price estimates from construction documents.
* Liaise with the Planning and Cost functions to ensure that estimated information is accounted for in project plans.
* Record actual project costs and maintain a ‘lessons learned’ listing for future bids.
* Monitoring performance against agreed norms and difficulty factors, making recommendations for improving the accuracy of future estimates. Continuous Improvement / Personal Development
* Responsible for supporting and achieving the Organisation and department’s targets and objectives.
* Responsible for understanding, agreeing and achieving personal objectives set by line manager.
* Adherence to the procedures as laid down by the HSEQ Management System.
Essential Skills:
* Educated to HND or above in relevant subject
* Significant demonstrable experience in similar roles in the industry
* Experience in preparing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation estimates for projects ranging in size up to £5M
* Experience of UK onshore industrial projects.
* Mechanical or Electrical Degree / Qualification (Desirable)
* Experience of ATEX equipment within hazardous areas. (Desirable)
