IT Infrastructure Specialist - 12 months fixed term
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Location: Eyre Court, Lincoln, 37.5 hours per week (hybrid working)
About the role
The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for leading the operational management, monitoring, and support of the Trust’s IT infrastructure. This includes hardware, software, desktop and shared infrastructure, voice and data networks, mobile and fixed telephony. The specialist ensures ongoing reliability, capacity, and efficacy across all areas of IT infrastructure.
Reporting to the Trust’s Head of IT and current Infrastructure Specialists, the role involves a range of infrastructure BAU activities, contributing to high-performing IT services. Responsibilities include providing technical advice, conducting complex technical investigations and fault finding, and proactively maintaining critical platforms and hardware.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills to work collaboratively with internal and external teams. The role requires liaising with third-party providers for telephony, connectivity, and data centre services.
The candidate should demonstrate best practices in their work, setting a professional example and promoting knowledge transfer within the IT team through documentation and sharing of technical knowledge.
Essential skills & knowledge
* Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
* Proven experience in supporting IT infrastructure, including networks, security, and hardware
* Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to plan and prioritize workload independently
* Experience working in an operational IT environment
* Experience managing and supporting IP-based telephony systems
* Experience supporting LAN/WAN networks
* Experience providing IT support
* Experience delivering IT services across multiple sites
* Minimum of 5 years' operational experience in IT infrastructure and service support
