Overview
We are recruiting a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects in the water and wastewater sector. This role emphasizes a strong technical understanding of Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering and a commitment to safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Maintain and enforce a safe workplace environment, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies and regulations.
Uphold the highest safety standards across operations, including adherence to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) and CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations. Project Management:
Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed-upon quality standards.
Develop and monitor detailed project plans, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies. Leadership and Team Development:
Lead and motivate project teams and subcontractors to achieve project goals efficiently and collaboratively.
Foster a culture of innovation, professional growth, and high morale within the team. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and maintain effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
Chair key meetings and provide timely project updates to stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with clients and third-party stakeholders to ensure smooth project integration and delivery. Problem-Solving and Reporting:
Address and resolve complex project issues swiftly to minimize disruptions.
Provide accurate and transparent reporting to stakeholders and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Strategic Contributions:
Work with leadership to identify and secure new business opportunities.
Demonstrate adaptability in taking on additional responsibilities to meet organizational priorities.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
Proven experience managing water and wastewater projects through the full lifecycle (preferred).
Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., HNC, Degree, NVQ Level 4 in Site Supervision, ONC).
Valid certifications, including CSCS/ECS/SKILLcard, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work (mandatory). Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, water/wastewater operations, and commissioning.
Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Familiarity with SHEQ and CDM compliance processes. Skills:
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively. Key Behaviours:
