Primary School Teaching Assistant (SEN) in Rochdale (OL11)
A Specialist provision within a mainstream Primary school in Rochdale requires SEN Teaching Assistants. The school requires staff on short-term and long-term contracts which could be either on a full-time or a part-time basis. The school caters for primary pupils with MLD, ASC, SCLN, SpLD, Visual impairments, and HI. They are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference with children in Specialist settings.
Responsibilities:
1. Create positive relationships with pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour.
2. Provide general support within the classes.
3. Work collaboratively with other LSAs and class teachers.
Long-term roles available:
1. Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm/8.30am-4.00pm).
2. Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis.
3. Interested in securing a permanent role.
Short-term roles available:
1. Part-time and/or full-time positions (Varied/ ad-hoc days - 8.30am-1.00pm/12.00pm-3.30pm/8.30am-3.30pm/4.00pm).
2. Would be covering emergency/scheduled absences.
The schools are keen to consider a variety of staff in terms of experience. You are likely to be successful whether you are an experienced SEN support assistant, a graduate looking for experience in specialist provision, or have current or prior experience as a support/care/youth worker. Ideally, if you have supported individuals with additional needs, that would be desirable; however, this is not essential to be successful.
