Job Description
We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented and experienced Millwork Estimator to join our team. This person will be responsible for analyzing project requirements and preparing detailed cost estimates. Additionally, they will need to coordinate with our Lead Designer, Production Foreman, customers, and vendors to procure material pricing and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality millwork projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of millwork fabrication, materials, and installation processes, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.
Roles / Responsibilities
* Reviewing architectural drawings and blueprints, compiling project specifications and materials requirements
* Procuring material pricing for the work required by the project. Procurement responsibilities include building and maintaining vendor relationships to ensure our clients get the best prices possible
* Managing client and General Contractor Relationships. Clear and concise communication with our clients from reception through the date of installation will be a critical element of this job. Continuing to foster new client relationships is also a priority and key metric for performance in this role.
The Ideal Candidate
Though not a prerequisite, the candidate should have proven experience in estimating Millwork (cabinetry, solid surfaces, etc.), and broad construction or project estimating experience is acceptable provided they are generally familiar with the fabrication process. Ideally, the candidate's existing material vendor and general contractor relationships can be relied on in their new role to help support the business. Familiarity with the best practices and processes associated with this role and industry would be of great value.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Estimate Review & Bid Preparation: Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for millwork projects, and prepare detailed bid proposals and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs)
* Cost Analysis: Analyze materials, labor, and production costs to determine project budgets
* Vendor Coordination: Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services
* Documentation: Organizing and maintaining all project and estimate related materials
* Compliance: Ensure estimates align with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
