Long-Term Teachers have a unique opportunity to join one of our biggest special schools in Devon, providing outstanding educational care and support to students of all ages. Our school is seeking a talented, experienced, bubbly and passionate cover teacher to join their team.
This role will include covering classes in the absence of the teacher, providing TA cover, 1:1 and small group work. Therefore, it is essential that you are confident with all aspects of the role. You will predominantly be working on the primary site (students aged 3 - 11), but you may occasionally be required to work on the upper site.
Based on a stunning campus surrounded by beautiful woodland and the seaside, our school caters for students with autism and complex needs from 3 - 19 years. With an adapted curriculum, no two days are the same. They have fantastic provisions such as a forest school, woodland walk, bike trail, swimming pool and much more! The ideal candidate:
* Experienced TA, HLTA or teacher
* Strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support a wide range of needs
* Excellent communication skills and able to work well within a team
* Willing to get ‘stuck in’ and a ‘can do’ attitude
* Flexibility and adaptability is key
* You may have additional qualifications such as: Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools, Level 4 Diploma in Childcare and Education, or other relevant qualifications in nursery work or childcare.
