Using the latest technology and design systems we can respond quickly to the needs of our clients producing high-quality computer-generated drawing layouts and details. Design is undertaken in-house and through our approved network of external design houses, therefore providing our clients with an integrated design and detailing service ensuring single source responsibility for the design and supply of the façade. The successful candidate will have good communication skills as this role will involve extensive communication with internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
To work on a total design solution specific to each project. This will be done by ensuring compliance to client’s recommendations/requirements and company procedures. Will be responsible for tasks relating to the project, instructed, and reporting to the Head of Design/Technical.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
1. Managing a design team.
2. Managing the design process using his/her commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise.
3. Managing external sub-contractors that are relevant to design ie 3D scans/structural engineers/thermal engineers/acoustic engineers.
4. Driving the project design forward and presenting potential solutions to issues that arise.
5. Setting up and chairing meetings.
6. Ensuring regulatory compliance.
7. Preparation and monitoring of design programmes and monitoring deliverables.
8. Sketching and proposing technical solutions.
9. Supporting, understanding, and advising the client as to the requirements and his/her obligations in the development of a building design.
10. Encouraging and inspiring designers to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources, and talents in a cost-effective way.
11. Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, where appropriate.
12. Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
13. Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
14. Checking take-offs prior to ordering.
Knowledge and Skills
Extensive knowledge of façade design, CWCT, Building Regulations and other legislation. A creative dynamic individual who is both adaptive and proactive to tackle design challenges as they arise.
A candidate should have experience with the following list:

Experience and education
1. 10 years of facades experience.
2. You will have a degree, HND or equivalent, ideally in a design or construction related subject.
3. You will have high standards of numeracy, oral and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate a capability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively and on own initiative. Membership to a professional body is desirable not essential.
