About the Job
As a Lead Network Security Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of our network security operations, spearheading strategic initiatives and solving complex challenges to ensure the robustness and integrity of our network infrastructure. This position is designed for a seasoned expert who is a trusted resource for the team, actively shaping the technical landscape while mentoring others. Holding a CCIE qualification, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and optimisation of secure and scalable network systems that support our critical business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for network security architecture, with deep knowledge of Fortinet firewalls, Cisco technologies, and AWS Cloud Networking.
2. Strategic Leadership: Drive the technical strategy for network security, aligning it with business goals and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across all platforms.
3. Project Ownership: Lead and manage complex network security projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to the highest standards of quality.
4. Team Mentorship: Act as a mentor and guide to other team members, fostering professional growth, knowledge sharing, and technical development.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative, secure solutions that address business needs.
6. Incident Resolution: Take ownership of critical network security issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution to maintain optimal performance and uptime.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing innovative practices to enhance network security and operational efficiency.
8. On-Call Support: Participate in the network security on-call rota, ensuring timely response to critical incidents.
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
1. Extensive Experience: Experience in network engineering or security roles, with a focus on Fortinet and Cisco technologies.
2. Certification: CCIE certification is required, demonstrating advanced technical expertise in networking and security.
3. Fortinet Expertise: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing Fortinet firewall systems.
4. Routing and Switching: Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, and wireless solutions, including SD-WAN.
5. AWS Proficiency: Solid understanding of AWS Cloud Networking, with hands-on experience preferred.
6. Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities for resolving complex network security challenges.
7. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring and developing team members.
8. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
9. Adaptability: Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
Highly Desirable:
1. Advanced AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
2. Experience with emerging security technologies and frameworks.
