Senior Process Engineer / Principal Process Engineer
Salary: £42,000 - £55,000
Location: Monmouth, Wales
Experience from within the water industry is preferable, with knowledge of wastewater treatment, engineering delivery processes, and detailed process design essential.
As part of an exciting expansion plan, my client, a leading wastewater engineering company, is actively recruiting for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to assist with designing, optimising, and implementing various wastewater treatment processes. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective treatment of water for various sectors including Municipal, Industrial, and Environmental Protection from major Infrastructure/Construction activities and projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Designing and developing wastewater treatment processes based on my client's products and actual project requirements, as well as industry standards, and complying with regulatory guidelines.
2. Perform detailed process designs and simulations to optimise wastewater treatment solutions.
3. Collaborate with companywide cross-functional teams to assess project feasibility and optimise potential options.
4. Support the development of laboratory experiments and pilot-scale studies to evaluate the effectiveness of different treatment methods, troubleshoot operational issues, and validate proposed solutions.
5. Assist in design, delivery, and commissioning of solutions including production of standard deliverables (P&IDs, Outline Drawings, Control Philosophies, HAZOPs, etc.).
6. Search and implement new technologies, processes, and product partners to ensure optimal solutions and opportunity close out.
7. Assist in identification and evaluation of potential R&D opportunities to further improve/develop solutions offered across all products and sectors.
8. Represent the company at meetings, giving presentations and holding technical/commercial negotiations.
Experience Required:
1. Engineering degree in civil, mechanical, chemical, wastewater, or other directly related degree.
2. Chartered or incorporated engineer status and membership of a professional institution.
3. Excellent technical, analysis, and data interpretation skills in identifying project/client needs.
4. Proven work experience in the water process engineering field.
5. Expert in wastewater treatment technologies and detailed process design.
6. Sound knowledge of process-related standards, design requirements, and project delivery processes.
7. Optimisation and troubleshooting skills, related risk identification, management, and mitigation.
8. Report writing and documentation development.
9. Staff supervision, mentoring, and training.
10. Desired: municipal water industry experience.
11. Full UK driving licence.
