Job Details: Responsible for leading a high-performing, cohesive and motivated team with a focus on continual development and improvement Lead and manage projects and/or workstreams, providing technical leadership, including task delegation and oversight, ensuring the required quality standards and milestones are met Work collaboratively with local and remote stakeholders including management, technology architects and technology staff with the lifecycle of new client services, from design and development, through to implementation and maintenance Undertake peer reviews, applying subject matter expertise Act as a technical point of escalation Proactively identify opportunities for the improvement and optimisation of operational processes to improve the reliability and efficiency of the team Provide support and maintenance of mission critical Wintel & Linux systems Apply the concepts of disaster recovery design, planning and testing Manage, implement and test business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for Wintel & Linux based systems Analyse and troubleshoot production faults and determine the most effective course of action Ensure continuous development within the team, including training, coaching and sharing technical knowledge Oversee, and where required carry out the maintenance of relevant IT documentation Work in accordance with company processes and industry best practice Work from other Cubic or customer sites as required Provide 3rd line support, including out-of-hours support in critical incidents and participation in on-call support. Minimum Job Requirements: Skills, knowledge and experience: Essential: Design, implement and operate Wintel & Linux based solutions to support internal applications and ticketing systems Distribution of pipelines and automation to deploy features and updates- Bug fixing and improvements Code review and release management Provide guidance and creating tools/scripts to automate application & infrastructure deployment Demonstrable experience of achieving business goals and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement Experience of automating and managing the deployment of cloud-based systems Demonstrable in-depth experience of designing, building and supporting a broad range of IT systems, particularly Microsoft Windows & Linux Servers and VMware vSphere. Knowledge and experience implementing and supporting public cloud hosted solutions (AWS and Azure) Knowledge and experience of Terraform or equivalent provisioning and automation tooling for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure Good knowledge of Automation and Configuration Management toolsets (e.g. Ansible) Proven track record of customer liaison and fault management with experience in a support and / or network operations centre environment. Experience of systems automation, configuration management, automated server and environment builds. Experience of working in an ITIL controlled environment. Experience of working under pressure in a dynamic and fast moving technical environment. Knowledge of security standards, including PCI-DSS Desirable: Experience driving a software development lifecycle using an interactive (agile) approach Proven track record of experience working with VMware in a data centre environment Demonstrable experience of fibre attached storage arrays Containers knowledge with Kubernetes and OpenShift Education and qualifications Essential: Degree in IT/Computing, Computer Science or equivalent education/experience Microsoft Certified System Administrator/Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, VMWare vSphere, Cloud (AWS/Azure) Desirable: ITIL certification Supervisory/management certification Project management certification i.e. PRINCE2 LI-SP3 Worker Type: Employee
