As a result of this proposition we’re seeking an experienced Property and/or Casualty Senior Underwriter to join us at our Chelmsford office (Hybrid working, 3 days a week in office). You'll participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Furthermore, for pricing-based roles, Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Salary Information Pay: Circa £55,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package. About You As the Senior P&C Underwriter your responsibilities will include; Acting as a Senior Authority holder focussed on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature Providing excellent service to our customers To build and develop successful Broker relationships To be visible in the local market, you will thrive on face to face contact with brokers and end customers To develop business relationships with key clients To achieve agreed financial and operational performance targets To collaborate strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery Essential Skills To be successful in this role you will have; Outstanding technical underwriting skills in commercial property and/or casualty (ideally already at a senior level) Proven track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks Capable of leveraging data and analytics Strong leadership capabilities Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator. Proven experience in handling large cases. Strong ability to build, develop and maintain broker relationships. Achievement orientated, able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines and with a positive attitude. ACII qualified or progression towards Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
