Description
The Export Customer Services Advisor will be responsible for managing customer and third-party queries effectively, ensuring timely communication and resolution of issues. The role involves liaising with clients and overseas agents to secure bookings and provide up-to-date information on routed bookings.
Key Responsibilities
* Confidently deal with customer and third-party queries in a timely and effective manner, escalating to management where necessary.
* Contact clients and missing shippers to secure more bookings when operators advise containers are low on volume.
* Communicate with overseas agents via email to ensure effective and up-to-date information is available for all routed bookings.
* Efficiently handle amendments to bookings including CBM, weight, and number of pieces.
* Book haulage, being aware of any special agreements such as free pick-up.
* Resolve haulage issues, such as drivers not turning up.
* Email clients about vessel delays and short shipments.
* Obtain haz acceptance if required, unless submitted by sales.
* Contact suppliers for freight collect shipments and obtain relevant paperwork such as MSDS, DGN, invoice, and packing list.
* Handle short shipments confidently.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Excellent communication skills for dealing with customers and third parties.
* Ability to secure bookings and manage client relationships effectively.
* Experience in handling amendments to bookings and understanding logistics.
* Problem-solving skills to resolve haulage issues efficiently.
* Familiarity with shipping documentation and procedures.
* Confident in managing short shipments.
