Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated Therapeutic Radiographers looking for a leadership position? Then join us at the busy Kent Oncology Centre where we operate as one team across our two sites at Maidstone and Canterbury.
We are equipped with nine linacs including four Truebeams and two Halcyons. HDR is delivered at Maidstone with treatment radiographers rotating through the service. Consultant Palliative Radiographers and MacMillan specialists support the teams on both sites.
As a Specialist Treatment Radiographer you will lead a team delivering a range of techniques including SABR, DIBH, VMAT and IGRT.
You will possess a high level of expertise in advanced radiotherapy and have experience in training and mentoring others.
Our Practice Educators are here to support your development. Staff are encouraged to get involved in audit, teaching, research and development for which CPD funding is available.
You will be based at our purpose-built centre at Maidstone.

Main duties of the job
• To lead a specialist team of radiographers to maximise resources and maintain a high-quality service for patients.
• To plan and organise daily work and some complex activities or programmes for an area of practice, some of which may be ongoing.
• Adapt practice according to planning and organisational management for better service delivery.
• Ensure policy implementation within the geographical and professional workplace.
• To facilitate attendance at the Disease orientated group meetings
• To inform the Clinical specialist or Services manager of any problems that may affect the smooth running of the Department
• Ensure working practices facilitate an efficient safe working environment
• Implement a service maximising resources within the wider centre objectives
• To provide receive and negotiate complex, sensitive and or contentious information where persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic or reassurance skills are required.
• Where appropriate to ensure the effective communication between different staff members and patients within the working area.
• Where appropriate to co-ordinate communication between various levels of staff within the workplace as well as interdepartmental communication.
• To provide receive and negotiate complex, sensitive and or contentious information where persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic or reassurance skills are required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. BSc Radiotherapy or equivalent
2. Registerable with HCPC.
3. Operator, and referrer under IRMER
4. Evidence of working at Masters Level
Desirable criteria
5. Undertaken accredited academic development
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
6. To have worked in a clinical environment.
7. Experience as a senior clinical radiotherapist
8. Have worked within a multi-disciplinary team
9. Previous supervisory experience
10. Knowledge of the pre-treatment process
11. Knowledge of National waiting times targets
Desirable criteria
12. Knowledge of modern radiotherapy developments
