Role Overview:
My client, a well-established, independent fire and security distributor, is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to cover their Northern territory, focusing on Manchester, Leeds, and the surrounding area. This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark by developing a region with significant growth potential, working with existing clients including FM companies and complex systems across hospitals and universities, while also winning new business from other large-scale sites. This role focuses on building new client relationships and driving maintenance contract sales to develop the territory.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a territory sales plan, focusing on Leeds, Manchester, and nearby regions.
2. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities on large scale sites.
3. Sell fire and security solutions from a range of manufacturers.
4. Drive maintenance contract sales with a target of £250,000 - £300,000.
5. Close deals with average order sizes ranging from £5K to £20K.
6. Present a wide range of fire safety solutions, including Siemens, Notifier, Gent, Edwards, and other leading brands.
7. Build and nurture relationships with clients, tailoring solutions to their unique requirements.
8. Maintain partnerships with leading manufacturers to guarantee the right system to meet a client’s needs and budget.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a BDM within the fire & security industry.
2. Strong hunter mentality, with a track record of winning new business.
3. Familiarity with Siemens, Notifier, Kentec, Morley, Advanced, Gent, Apollo, and Hochiki is beneficial.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
5. Self-motivated and able to thrive in a less-established territory.
