About the role:
As a Behaviour Specialist, you will work closely with students who face behavioural challenges, helping them to stay focused, engaged, and confident in their learning. You will collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to implement tailored behaviour plans, creating a positive and productive atmosphere for students. This role is essential to ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive in school and beyond.
Responsibilities of the Behaviour Specialist:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support for students.
2. Implement individual behaviour plans, working closely with teachers and support staff.
3. Help students build self-esteem, manage emotions, and develop positive social skills.
4. Monitor progress, adapting strategies as needed, and communicate updates to staff and families.
5. Create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements of the Behaviour Specialist:
1. Experience working with children or young people who have behavioural challenges.
2. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
3. Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to support students.
4. Ability to implement behaviour management strategies effectively.
5. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
6. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
