About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech & Language Therapist to join our team here at St Elizabeth’s. This post would suit either a newly qualified therapist who is interested in working with children and adults with SEN or an experienced Band 5 or 6 therapist looking to develop their skills. Our approach is goal orientated, looking at both needs and aspirations to support children and young people to develop and flourish despite their communication difficulties.
What you’ll be doing
1. Providing initial and ongoing assessment of the Speech and Language therapy needs for children, young people and adults
2. Devising person-centred therapy, objectives and strategies whilst working collaboratively with our health, education, and care colleagues
3. Attend annual reviews, transition meetings and multi-disciplinary meetings
4. Develop resources and equipment to meet the needs of the individuals we support to maximise their potential
About you
We are looking for candidates with a positive approach and excellent professional skills. The successful candidate will have knowledge of potential communication and dysphagia challenges. You will also have knowledge of assessment tools and a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to our client group, who have a range of needs such as LD, ASD, PMLD and epilepsy.
