We are working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the Peckham area who are seeking a Senior Early Help Practitioner to join their Family Early Help Service. To deliver and supervise high quality play activities to children & young people, parents and carers, in playgrounds and parks in the borough, in order to enable the service to achieve the aims and goals of relevant corporate plans and strategies in relation to children and young people. Contract - 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract. Working Hours - 36 Hours per week. Location - Peckham. Rate of Pay - £23.87 - £27 per hour - Negotiable depending on experience. About the role: These roles will focus on supporting families working closely with partner agencies to deliver high quality early intervention to families in collaboration with primary schools. You will have experience and working knowledge of an early intervention setting and statutory work with children and families with a demonstrable track record in family work and leading professional collaborations including health professionals, voluntary sector, police, social workers and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for children and their families. Accountabilities: Engage families in recognising the need for change in order to improve outcomes for their children and work with them to achieve sustainable changes. Conduct whole family assessments that consider risk factors such as poor school attendance, physical and mental health issues, substance misuse, worklessness, offending, exploitation, financial difficulties, safeguarding, domestic violence and parental conflict. Create a whole family plan with families that includes the voice of children and has SMART objectives to address risk factors and improve outcomes for children. Review progress of family plans regularly and plan exit strategies to sustain progress. Use evidence based tools that engage families and can show progress against identified needs. Deliver evidence based direct work to children, parents and families to address risk factors in a 1:1, family or group setting using a variety of professional skills. Work purposefully with schools, health professionals, voluntary sector, police, social workers and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for children. Act as lead professional and coordinate Team Around the Family meetings, holding others to account for the delivery of agreed actions Experience Needed: Must hold a recognised and relevant academic and/or professional qualification at level 5/Degree level or higher in direct work with families or have significant experience in complex whole family work. Knowledge of guidance and best practice in work with 0 - 19 year olds and their families in respect of early intervention, youth justice, relevant childcare and education legislation, and the London Child Protection Procedures.
