Job Description
As Transport Planner, you will contribute to the success of the transport team. You will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.
Working hours: 5 from 7 days, 08.00-18.00
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
* Work with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
* Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK.
* Planning daily workload of fleet vehicles based on site and out bases.
* Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise.
* Planning collections per day on a time-critical basis.
* Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s.
* Proactively look for continuous improvements.
* Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
* Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support of Stobart’s when volumes dictate.
Qualifications
* Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
* Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
* Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
* CPC desirable but not required.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment.
* Customer focus on delivery performance.
* Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
* Experience of using a TMS system.
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Strong analytical and Excel capability across standard formulas.
