The post holder has lead responsibility in delivering the following key result areas: To deliver therapy programmes as devised by the Speech and Language Therapist for adults in one to one situations, at the discretion of the supervising Speech and Language Therapist. To aid in the delivery of therapy programmes as devised by the Speech and Language Therapist in group situations, under the direct supervision of the Speech and Language Therapist or higher level assistant. Monitors the use and condition of all equipment used as part of treatment programmes and reports any defects to the appropriate person Maintains equipment in a clean and safe condition To provide appropriate information and support to adults and their carers, working with a high level of support, direct supervision and direction from Speech and Language Therapists and higher level assistants. To liaise with adults, their carers and colleagues regarding the adults care and management with support from Speech and Language Therapists. To carry out a wide range of administrative tasks that assist Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants in delivering assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic information, training, advice and support to adults, their carers and other stakeholders. To produce, maintain and catalogue assessment and intervention resources under the supervision of Speech and Language Therapists. To implement quality standards related to the client group with a high level of support, direct supervision and direction from Speech and Language Therapists on a regular basis. To participate in activities designed to improve the effectiveness of service provision, working with a high level of support, direct supervision and direction from Speech and Language therapists. To participate in the delivery of innovative practice, working with a high level of support, direct supervision and direction from Speech and Language Therapists. To observe personal duty of care in relation to equipment and resources used in course of work. To provide support to volunteers within the Department, with guidance from Speech and Language Therapists. To be responsible for data entry, text processing or storage of data, utilising paper or computer based data entry systems as required To undertake administrative record keeping and information gathering activities expected of the team within the required time frame To take part in regular clinical supervision and peer support To participate in the current appraisal system. To provide accurate statistical information as requested. To ensure that client records are maintained at all times. To attend and take part in all relevant meetings, training and service development activities. To behave at all times in such a way as to foster a positive image of the service and colleagues. To undertake additional duties as considered appropriate by the professional lead and clinical team lead To comply with the Health and Safety regulations and any other relevant Trust policies.
