Affinity Water are investing in a Digital Transformation Programme to enhance the way we engage with our customers. We have a new 12-month fixed-term contract for a Digital Data and Control Lead to oversee and ensure data integrity, manage data migration, and lead integration and analysis activities as we implement a Master Customer Data System. This pivotal role involves re-platforming a website and migrating multiple data feeds from legacy systems into a new platform.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Digital Data and Control Lead, you will lead the planning, execution, and oversight of migrating critical business data from legacy systems to new platforms. You will work closely with Customer Experience, Technology teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless data migration that aligns with customer requirements and compliance standards.
This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in re-platforming a new website, enhancing customer journeys, managing multiple data feeds, and implementing system-driven control protocols to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance.
Data Migration & Integration
* Lead business migration workstreams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data migration requirements.
* Support the design and execution of data migration processes to the new Master Customer Data System.
* Ensure data quality standards, including cleansing, transformation, and validation, are met throughout the migration process.
* Develop and implement comprehensive migration strategies and risk mitigation plans.
* Work closely with technical teams to establish data mapping rules and transformation logic.
* Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Control Framework & Data Quality
* Build system-driven control protocols to maintain data integrity and governance.
* Identify and mitigate data quality issues, ensuring proactive alerting mechanisms are in place.
* Monitor and measure data quality performance, ensuring continuous improvements.
* Enable data professionals across the business with access to high-quality, well-structured data.
Data Modelling & Analysis
* Develop and maintain data models that align with business needs and digital transformation initiatives.
* Optimise data structures for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary point of contact for customer data migration activities, providing updates on progress, risks, and issues.
* Work closely with Data Technology, compliance teams, and project managers to ensure smooth integration.
* Communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Reporting & Documentation
* Document all control processes, migration steps, and integration activities.
* Create detailed reports on data integrity, migration progress, and control effectiveness.
* Support audit and compliance reviews with thorough documentation.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in data governance, data migration, or data management within large-scale transformation projects.
* Expertise in data modelling, SQL, and ETL technologies.
* Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and compliance regulations.
* Experience with business process analysis and ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions.
* Familiarity with enterprise-level data infrastructure and ETL principles.
* Experience in change management and business re-engineering.
