Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. The role involves maintaining the UK-wide rail network, working with clients such as Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the Systems Engineer will handle project upgrades across various infrastructures, focusing on technical aspects of SISS within a Rail environment.
Typical Deliverables:
* Experience in system design, surveying, and technical engineering within SISS.
* Potential leadership in developing new products or services, from conception to installation.
* Creating detailed technical plans for ideas and concepts.
* Applying mathematical and scientific skills to develop practical solutions.
* Material selection and cost analysis forecasting for projects.
* Preparation of technical and regulatory documentation.
* Ensuring quality control and overseeing product/system deployment.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of professional engineering disciplines and related areas.
* Coordinate testing of products, systems, software, or infrastructure.
* Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Develop personal engineering skills continuously.
* Solve complex problems with innovative perspectives.
* Work independently with minimal guidance.
* Lead project activities and mentor colleagues.
* Adhere to QEHS requirements.
Skill Requirements:
* Proven experience in SISS, engineering, design, and surveying.
* Relevant licenses/certifications for the discipline.
* Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and other CAD software.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to collaborate and work effectively with stakeholders.
* Problem-solving passion and analytical skills.
