Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer

What you'll be doing
1. Design and Develop Infrastructure: Create high-quality infrastructure solutions and maintain existing systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
2. Monitor Performance: Oversee infrastructure performance and health, ensuring continuous availability.
3. Technical Issue Management: Troubleshoot support issues across complex development environments.
4. Service Desk Support: Act as the escalation point for IT issues raised through the Service Desk, performing triage, prioritization, and resolution.
5. Automation and Documentation: Write scripts for automation and document deployed systems and working practices.
6. Security and Compliance: Enhance security, confidentiality, and integrity of IM&T environments by ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
7. Collaboration and Improvement: Work with suppliers and peers to continuously improve delivery and support core delivery objectives.
8. Team Leadership: Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and support the GD1 Service Manager with adherence to company Cyber Security Standards.
Your skills and experiences
Essential
1. Experience: 3+ years in an Infrastructure Engineer role.
2. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IT technologies including Windows Platforms, Linux, server management, cloud platforms (VMWare), Citrix, Networking (Cisco), and enterprise management technologies.
3. Problem Solving: Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions and apply subject matter knowledge to resolve issues.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to multiple stakeholders.
5. Team Collaboration: Ability to work within a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Security Clearance: Must hold, or be willing to obtain, SC clearance as a minimum.
Desirable
1. Certifications: MCSE, RHCE, RHCA, VCP, VCAP, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certifications.
2. Third-Party Management: Experience working with 3rd Party IT service suppliers and partners.
3. Organizational Experience: Experience in large, matrixed organizations and managing conflicting priorities.
