An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Senior/Principal Acoustics Engineer to join our expanding Northern UK Acoustics team, working out of either our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. We have an established team of acousticians and air quality consultants in the North (based in Leeds, Manchester, and Newcastle) and following the success of our building services team in Scotland are looking to expand our acoustics offering. This is an exciting opportunity to build your own team and develop a service.
The Acoustics & Air Quality Division is a human-centric team of people from a variety of backgrounds within acoustics, working to deliver a standout approach to the complexities of acoustics engineering. The team aspires to provide premium acoustics engineering across all projects, whilst maintaining approachable, adaptable and accountable relationships with our clients and colleagues.
Project Examples:
* Event Centres, performance spaces and music venues.
* Hotels, student accommodation and residential schemes.
* Schools, including for Special Education Needs (SEN).
* Universities in Manchester, Newcastle, Keele, and Blackpool.
* Prisons and Justice.
* Offices and Commercial Spaces.
* Entertainment and Leisure Facilities.
* Research projects in Healthcare and Justice.
Your role will include:
* Collaborate with the Regional Director and other regional discipline leads in strategic work winning activities and on fostering a great working environment in the region.
* Be responsible for the management and delivery of projects within the region.
* Collaborate with our UK-wide acoustics team on pushing our technical excellence, innovative work streams, and team culture.
* Participate in our knowledge sharing forums, leading technical CPD sessions to the wider team.
* Building and leading your own team in the region.
* Be an ambassador for Acoustics both inside and outside the business.
What are we looking for?
* Strong experience working in acoustics consultancy, with a demonstrable track record both in environmental acoustics and building acoustics design. Our team comes from a range of engineering and scientific backgrounds, with a variety of qualifications.
* Professionals who can confidently build and maintain relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders, and clients.
* Someone who enjoys mentoring junior members of the team and has a passion for acoustics.
* An existing base of local client contacts would be advantageous but is not essential.
