MCS Group is delighted to be working with a large non-profit organisation based in Belfast who are looking to recruit an HR Partner to their team, on a temporary part-time basis likely for 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity if you're searching for an exciting HR position within an excellent organisation on a 22.5 -30 hours per week basis The role: To contribute to the effective administration of its functions and assist in the development of strategies and plans for the delivery of its agreed objectives in a manner in keeping with the ethos of the Organisation. Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resources practices and provide a comprehensive Human Resource service to its organisations, councils, and committees as required. Under the leadership of the Head of HR, provide guidance and support to line managers on human resource matters in keeping with the needs of the organisation, ensuring models of best practice and compliance with Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland legislation. The main responsibilities: To assist in the development and implementation of a HR strategy to include recruitment and training and development. To assist in ensuring adequate HR support is provided to line managers regarding employee relations, absence management, performance management and appraisal, disciplinary and grievances, recruitment and selection, employing migrant workers, succession planning and development etc. To assist in the development, review and updating of HR policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment to meet the requirements of the organisation, statutory requirements and best practice. To act as an advisor on recruitment to Secretaries and their staff (including sitting on panels where appropriate), advising on best practice. To assist the Head of HR in providing advice and support in grievances, disciplinary and absence management cases (including investigation and interview procedures). To support the development and delivery of appropriate training on key human resource initiatives such as recruitment and selection, absence management, discipline and grievance etc. To provide HR reports to meet the requirements of the Councils and Committee on subjects such as labour turnover, recruitment, absence management and other reports as deemed appropriate. To deputise for the Head of HR as required. To allocate and supervise work delegated to the HR Staff as appropriate. To assist the Head of HR in ensuring that appropriate up to date contractual documentation is in place for all staff and up-to-date and communicated effectively to payroll. To participate in meeting with Councils and external bodies such as the Equality Commission, Labour Relations Agency and other meetings as appropriate. To contribute to the overall organisational effectiveness and to perform any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Head of HR in line with their requirements. The successful candidate: Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) (previously known as Graduate Member) At least two year's generalist HR experience, including significant experience in advice-giving on employment issues and contractual documentation Experience of managing discipline and grievance cases Working knowledge of employment legislation and good practice procedures Experience of recruitment and selection High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications Availability of a car for business use and willingness to obtain appropriate insurance Availability for occasional out-of-hours duties if required What's on offer: Highly competitive salary of £32,775k - £39,426k Holiday allowance of 25 days + 13 stat days Hybrid working To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up to date CV via the link provided or contact Simon Markey, HR Recruitment Specialist at MCS Group Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
