Successful manufacturer require a Purchasing Assistant on a 6 month FTC. Applicants need previous experience within purchasing administration, supply chain, logistics or as a Junior Buyer and will ideally have previous exposure to MRP.
The Purchasing Assistant will offer support to a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers, performing operational and administrative procurement tasks. Working within a fast-paced production manufacturing environment, the Purchasing Assistant will be proactive in building strong relationships with supply chain partners and stakeholders.
Specific duties of the Purchasing Assistant include:
1. To raise and amend where necessary purchase orders on vendors
2. To ensure all orders are acknowledged and loaded on MRP/ERP system, and MRP/ERP data is maintained
3. Expediting
4. Monitor stock levels
5. Foster stakeholder relationships with engineering, production and quality
Purchasing Assistant applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Experience with operational purchasing tasks - raising purchase orders, expediting etc.
2. Previously held a role in; purchasing, supply chain, logistics or materials planning
3. Strong organisation and teamwork skills
4. Experience with MRP/ERP
5. Comfortable being office-based and working to a 6 month FTC contract
