The old laundry houses an impressive Costume Collection, which features some fine examples of 18th to 20th-century fashion. The Collections & House Officer is an integral role at the property, which has a small but dedicated team. Our house teams across the Mid Ulster properties are a tight knit group who are professional and knowledgeable about collections care and visitor experiences within historic spaces. The role is based primarily at Springhill House with input into Grays Printing Press, Strabane, and Wellbrook Beetling Mill, Cookstown. The role reports the Collections and House Manager for Mid Ulster. What you'll be doing As the Collections and House Officer, you'll be responsible for opening the house every day and running both the daily visitor experience and supporting with large events like Easter and managing a team of Service Assistants and a Collections Assistant. Supervised by The Mid Ulster Collections and House Manager, you'll be responsible for routine conservation, preventive conservation and the annual programme of deep cleaning. Your attention and expertise will help to ensure excellent standards of care throughout the house. You'll collect and record information gathered during cleaning and housekeeping, to improve our knowledge and understanding of the house and all that's in it. You'll use preventive conservation methods to improve how we look after everything, and how we present it to visitors. You'll assume a primary position at the site ensuring standards are maintained, acting as part of the Duty Management rota and will regularly liaise with the portfolios Property Leadership Team.
