We are part of the Tara Group consisting of Chasetown Civil Engineering, specialising in infrastructure and groundworks, and Keon Homes who work in partnership with local authorities for affordable homes provision as well as delivering homes for the private rental sector (PRS).
The Tara Group is a family-owned independent company, consisting of four companies involved in the construction of housing. It was originally founded in 1974 by Noel Sweeney and remains in the ownership of the Sweeney Family. With offices in Chasetown, we employ over 250 across our group and work with over 400 sub-contractors.

What will the role involve?
Accountable for the financial performance, project cost control and procurement of the sub-contractors for allocated residential developments, working as part of the Commercial team.
Key role responsibilities:
* Procurement of sub-contract orders and cost control for residential developments. The quantity surveyor will be expected to compile site start budgets and perform ongoing profit and loss valuations.
* Responsible for sending out sub-contract enquiries and procuring trades for new developments.
* Required to manage the sub-contract payment process and ensuring accounts are kept up to date.
* Accountable for compiling site start budgets and highlighting risks/opportunities.
* Responsible for day to day cost control of their developments whilst managing/reporting cost variations.
* Provide support to the build team to help them understand project costs and site running costs.
* Collaborating with site teams to resolve site issues and obtain the best outcome.
* Responsible for utilising the COINs database, produce monthly CVRs to comply with accounting timetable, ensure accuracy of cost to completes and manage commercial budgets within them.
* Ensuring that sub-contractors are final accounted at the end of a development to minimise future liabilities.
* Responsible for ensuring sub-contractors understand and fulfil the required specifications.
* Ensuring that customer care and 5 Star Builder status remains a priority.
* Continue to drive COINs as a software tool and look to identify new ways of working with it. Actively look to get best value from utilising group companies and expertise.
* Be commercially aware, identify risks and opportunities and in doing so ensure a strong commercial voice for the success of the project is heard.
* Continually drive personal development and career progression.
