Hays are working exclusively with a public sector organisation who are looking for an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join their team in Shrewsbury. This role could either be full-time or the organisation would also consider part-time; if part-time, the role would be more focused on Payroll.
Your new role
You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees, with duties including:
* Processing end-to-end payroll for monthly paid employees.
* Managing time and attendance records.
* Managing starters and leavers and benefits.
* Ensuring compliance with legislation.
* Resolving payroll queries.
* Investigating discrepancies.
* Payroll year-end.
* Payroll analysis.
* Finance duties.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in payroll and knowledge of UK payroll regulations and taxation.
* Confident in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, and ideally Sage payroll.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Transport required due to location.
