Description
As the External Communications Officer you will have the following responsibilities:
1. Actively seek opportunities to highlight the University's top-tier research, education, and experiences through international media coverage.
2. Build media relationships and plan and execute creative communications campaigns.
3. Produce engaging content for use in external communications activity, as well as across the University's owned channels.
4. Deliver effective response services to a wide range of reactive media enquiries.

Profile
The successful External Communications Officer will have/be:
1. Demonstrable experience within a similar communications/media role - ideally gained from working in a reactive and proactive press office or comms agency.
2. A creative, proactive, and excellent communicator skilled at taking complex ideas and turning them into engaging media stories.
3. The ability to manage opportunities from idea, through to development to conclusion.
4. The ability to recognize how stories can be creatively crafted for different channels and audiences.
5. Strong organization skills.
6. Ability to manage time effectively and work to tight deadlines.
Job Offer
12 month Fixed Term Contract.
Salary banding - £33,521 to £39,058 per annum.
