Job Title: Software Product Support Lead Location: Bristol Contract type: Permanent Hybrid working is available however 4 days in the office minimum due to security of work. Security Clearance is necessary for this role - British Citizen or Dual UK National. We are searching for someone who has a passion for software and its successful deployment in battlespace weapon systems. Our client work on technology that is at the forefront of European missile system design, delivering safe, secure, and reliable products to our customers. This role allows for involvement in many of the most advanced missile systems in the world, across multiple warfare domains. The software is our client work on are complex and they require someone with an inquisitive nature to be able to investigate issues and discuss solutions with our customers. Debugging and engineering investigation is a major part of the role. Experience of Linux is necessary for this position as the products you will work on require Linux Operating System (OS) configuration, support and security solution maintenance. You will be working across both land and maritime projects in the systems software department. The Successful Software Product Support Lead will possess the following: Experience with C or C++ (at least one of these is essential) Ada, and/or JavaScript, shell scripting languages with a solid background in software engineering. Experience configuring and maintaining Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu) including Kernel configuration and Kernel test. A passion for software engineering, with the ability to innovate and think critically to solve complex software problems with a willingness to develop software skillsets either through on the job, or formal training. Comfortable working with a team in a collaborative environment, communicating and contributing to resolve emerging issues. Experience in the development of software for Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) hardware and be comfortable working with target system hardware.
