About the Role: Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
Joining their highly-skilled team based in the Southwest of the UK, you'll take on the role of a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Design, you'll be responsible for assisting the Design team with both existing & new product development.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for both existing & new product design for our clients' seating products in SOLIDWORKS.
· Creating 2D drawings of seating products to be handed over to the manufacturing team.
· Carry out the 3D modelling & visualisation of new seating product designs for manufacturing to adhere to.
· Assist with conducting improvements on existing product drawings & specifications.
· Frequent communication with the sales team, being happy to provide design & drawing presentations for both new & existing products as required.
Requirements:
Please note our client is open to considering both graduates alongside Design Engineers with several years of experience. Find the relevant requirements below:
Graduates:
* Degree in design engineering, product design or mechanical engineering.
* Strong understanding of SOLIDWORKS.
* UK Driver's license.
Design Engineers:
* At least 1-2 years' experience in New Product Design within Manufacturing or construction industries.
* Degree in design engineering, product design or mechanical engineering.
* Utilising SOLIDWORKS & AutoCAD for new mechanical product development.
* Excellent CAD / 3D modelling skills.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods, such as: steel fabrication, plastic injection moulding, casting & finishing techniques.
* UK Driver's license.
Package:
* Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE)
