We are looking for three enthusiastic audiologists to join our multidisciplinary Audiology Department at RSFT, Guildford.
The post-holder will be required to work across sites to cover clinics at Royal Surrey County Hospital, including its outreach sites at West Byfleet, Frimley Park and domiciliary visits. Access to a car is highly recommended.
We are a progressive audiology service which provides multidisciplinary services including a diagnostic and rehabilitation service for children/adults, Baha service, Vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation service, Tinnitus and Hyperacusis service and the provision of private hearing aids.
The Audiology department is a placement centre for BSc and MSc Audiology students and the post-holder will play a pivotal role in supervising the next generation of audiologists.
Staff members benefit from taking part in a wide range of educational and professional development opportunities including monthly training sessions and audiology training courses.
In addition, there are plenty of in-house educational activities ranging from training programmes on audiology specialities (e.g., paediatric, tinnitus, vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation, physiological measurements etc) to taking part in ongoing research projects.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of clinical audiology services in close working with the Audiology Team Lead, Adult Clinical Service Lead and Head of Department.
This will cover the maintenance of demonstrably high professional standards in respect of:
* The scientific, technical, therapeutic, rehabilitation and clinical activity of the service
* Patient care
* The effective and efficient use of resources and the management of workload
* The provision of professional advice consistent with the responsibilities and expertise of the department
* Teaching and training of junior staff
* Keeping abreast with new developments and providing an evidence-based service
The Post Holder Will
* Perform a range of technical activities related to the disorders of hearing for adults.
Provide Audiological cover for ENT clinics.
Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to adult patients referred to the Audiology department including fitting and fine-tuning of hearing aids.
Help with the day-to-day running and routine organisation of Adult Audiological services in the dedicated clinic as directed by a senior audiologist.
Be expected to participate in the department’s rotational scheme at different locations, including domiciliary visits, to maintain a wide experience in a variety of clinics.
