My Client a Cornish company with the aim of using technology and high-quality engineering to make it easier for everyone to get fit and remain healthy, is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team. As a result of rapid growth, they are expanding their finance team based in Bodmin. This is a great opportunity for a someone interested in developing their career in Finance, gaining exposure to a full range of accounts functions.
Purpose of Role
•To provide transactional support across the finance function, supporting the Accounts Manager and Financial Director.
Key Responsibilities
• Mainly working across Purchase and Sales Ledger, taking responsibility for authorisation and processing in line with company procedures
• Updating accounting systems with financial transactions
• Tracking and reconciling company bank statements
• Processing company expenses/mileage in line with policy
• Collating and inputting payroll data using excel, responsible for ensuring accuracy
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports
• Provide accounting and administrative support during budget preparation
• Liaise with other departments, suppliers and partners
• Providing occasional holiday cover for Shipping, Logistics and Warranty support roles
Person Specification Essential:
• Previous experience in an Accounting/Finance admin or assistant role – minimum 2 years
• Good data input abilities
• Strong numerical understanding
• Good MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
• Organisational and time-management skills
• Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Good team working ethics and a can-do attitude
•Willingness to learn and a flexible approach
• Motivated to develop and grow in an accounting function Desirable:
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
• Minium of a level 3 AAT qualification is required
Location
Bodmin, Cornwall
Working Pattern
37.5 hours per week between the hours of 7 and 5 Monday to Friday - Flexible working hours by agreement
