Job summary Watford Satellite Dialysis Band 5 Staff Nurse Hammersmith Hospital, located in West London is home to the "hub" of our modern, dynamic and very large Renal and Transplant service. Renal Services at this site include an acute renal replacement therapy unit, a peritoneal dialysis unit, a highly successful deceased and live donor transplantation service, inpatient nephrology care (including high dependency and intensive care), a dedicated renal assessment and admissions unit and our renal out-patient clinics. We also have nine haemodialysis centres, and we are currently recruiting for the Watford Satellite Unit Dialysis patients typically spend many years under our care, and we develop and enjoy close relationships with them and their families. Much of the management and care of our dialysis patients is nurse-led. Staff nurses learn to manage renal anaemia, renal bone metabolism, arterio-venous access, optimization of dialysis treatment outcomes and much more. You will gain specific dialysis skills, and a wealth of nephrology knowledge, as well as broader skills and experience in areas including diabetes, hypertension, and palliative care.
